Adding Products and Variants

If you learn how to customize your product's details and variants properly, you'll save a lot of time adding your products. Follow this step by step guide to learn everything you need to know about this topic.

Alternatively, you can import/export your products

■ Product details

1. Start by reaching the "add a product" page by going to the admin menu (on the left) > Products (1)> All products (2) > Add Product (3).
   
   
2. Fill in the initial information under "classification" which includes: department, category, subcategory (see example below).

3. Fill in the title and a brief description under "add a product", and add a picture or more of your product (see example below).
4. Scroll down and enter the price of your product under the section titled "pricing" (1).
5. Proceed by entering the quantity of this product under the section titled "inventory" (2).
6. Add the weight of your product for shipping purposes under the section titled "shipping" (3).

■ Variants

1. Scroll down until you find a section titled "variants" and under that section click "add variants".
   
   
2. Choose the option name (for example: color) then fill in the different values under "value name" (for example: blue, red, green).
3. If you wish to add another variant, click on "add a variant" in the same section (for example size), then fill the different values under "value name" (for example 44, 48, 50,).

• You will notice that under your newly created variant, there's a list of all the SKU combinations which were inherited from the previously added price, quantity, and variants (see picture below).

■ Delete specific variants

• If you wish to delete a certain variant (SKU), check the box next to it in the list then click "bulk actions" above then click on "delete".

Do not forget to click Save once you're done adding your variants and before proceeding to any further actions.

■ Add specific variants

1. If you wish to add a specific variant which is not included in the list, after saving the chosen variants, click on "add a variant" in the top right corner of the variants' section (see picture below).
2. You will be redirected to the "add new item" page, in which you have to fill the new information for the specific items you wish to add and finalize the process by clicking "Save".

■ How variants appear on the public site: 

Once your customers go to a product having variants, they'll have a drop-down menu with the name of the available variant. Clicking on the drop-down menu will show the list of available variants from which the client can choose.

In the example below, color is added as a variant with options including Black, Gold, Grape Purple, Jungle Green, etc...
